In 2005 Fuel produced Names of the Dead. Developed at BAC, the project came about when Tom Morris asked composer Stephen McNeff to set to music the names of the dead from the Iraq war. One of the conscious challenges of the project was that finding the names of Iraqi military and civilians killed in the war was hard. Stephen’s music was performed by Adey Grummet and the Duke Quartet in a setting directed by Mark Espiner and Tom Morris, designed by Mark Anstee with lighting design by Guy Hoare. The piece was performed at BAC and at Opera North.
