Fuel presents Everyday Moments Podcast

Imagine there was a soundtrack to those small moments when you find yourself alone, brushing your teeth, in the bath, watching the rain stream down your living room window, or when you’re tucked up in bed unable to sleep.

In 2011, Fuel commissioned a series of podcasts from different artists inspired by their favourite everyday moment, designed to be listened to at a particular time and in a particular place.

Hofesh Shechter’s podcast, designed to be listened to alone, in a dark space, was an invitation to move without inhibition – the way you always wished you could when no one is watching.

During this time many of us found ourselves indoors (and in dark spaces) which is the perfect time for these podcasts.

More about the project

Artists making the podcasts with us were: Bobby Baker, Inua Ellams, Nic Green, John Hegley, Kazuko Hohki, Adrian Howells, Josie Long, Peggy Shaw, Hofesh Shechter, Lemn Sissay, Nick Whitfield, and Melanie Wilson.

One podcast a month was released throughout 2011.

In autumn 2015, Hofesh Shechter presented #HOFEST, a 4-week long season of performances giving audiences the opportunity to experience the breadth of Hofesh Shechter Company’s work in some of the capitals leading arts organisations and most iconic venues. As part of the season, we presented the podcast he created for our series Everyday Moments as a short, immersive installation for one audience member at a time.

"Combining elements of both the site-specific and one-on-one theatre, the results are intriguing, fun and, at times, exquisitely touching"
