Back by popular demand, Love Letters At Home returns with 6 new dates.
In response to our desire for connection in an age of distance, Uninvited Guests brings to you a completely digital, wholly personal and wonderfully live experience in Love Letters At Home.
Every night is unique to its audience, featuring your song dedications and the stories attached to them, declarations of love, past and present. Join us online via Zoom as we raise our glasses to long lost loves and current lovers, to mums and dads, and to absent friends.
Since its creation in 2007, Love Letters At Home has toured regularly. In 2009, we performed the show at the Edinburgh Fringe to great critical success, including a 5-star review in the Guardian. Since then, the show has been programmed steadily around the country. It has played to over 30 venues, with an audience of over 1,500, including two runs at the Southbank Centre, with the RSC in Stratford and at Fierce Festival.
In 2014, we toured to various venues in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, in partnership with Luminate, Scotland’s creative ageing festival. We visited arts centres outside the central belt and engaged older audiences in pre-show workshops, helping them write the personal dedications to loved ones that make up the show.
After the 2014 tour, we adapted the show to the Welsh language to be performed in six venues in North Wales. We identified that the way in which the show merges theatre with a social event makes it accessible to a wider audience, and have sought opportunities to tour the show to daycare centres for the elderly, and within rural touring schemes. We have toured the show to rural village halls in North Devon, Surrey and Shropshire, and to care homes for the elderly in Islington, Tower Hamlets and Hammersmith in London, and ARC’s Silver scheme in Stockton.
