Nowhere to Tour to Edinburgh This August

Posted on: 6th May 2025

Following a sold out run at Battersea Arts Centre in October, Nowhere has been announced today as part of the prestigious Here & Now Showcase during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2025. The production will be presented at the Traverse Theatre 12-24 August. Tickets will go on sale on 21 May.

Written and performed by acclaimed actor and activist Khalid Abdalla (Mnemonic, United 93, The Crown, The Day of the Jackal) and directed by Omar Elerian (ECHO (Every Cold-Hearted Oxygen), Misty, NASSIM), Nowhere is an intricate and playful solo performance inspired by Khalid’s  involvement in the Egyptian revolution of 2011, and his experience of the counter-revolution that followed.

From the histories of colonialism and decolonisation; friendship and loss; protests and uprising against regimes across the world; to the violence in Gaza following the events of October 7th 2023, Khalid brings together the personal and the political in an act of anti-biography that asks how we got here and how we find agency amidst the mazes of history.

Following its acclaimed premiere, Nowhere has been celebrated by critics and audiences alike:

“Radical and urgent” – ★★★★ The Guardian
“A triumph of modern theatre” – ★★★★★ The Reviews Hub

The show was recently awarded the Spectacular Creation Off West End Award 2025, recognising its innovation, artistry, and emotional power.
