Fuel presents Clod Ensemble’s Open Workshops

Leading on from the Anatomy Season in 2011, Clod Ensemble ran a series of open workshops culminating in a Symposium in Autumn 2012.

Highlights included two workshops inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci’s anatomical drawings, which were on public exhibition for the first time since 1972.

Anatomy Through Movement

Wellcome Collection, London

Drawing on Leonardo Da Vinci’s anatomical drawings as inspiration this 90-minute workshop encouraged participants to engage with their own anatomy through a series of gentle movement exercises.

Led by Associate Artist Leon Baugh and Suzy Willson, Artistic Director of Clod Ensemble.

Physical Thinking The Queen’s Gallery, London

This allowed audiences to enjoy the Leonardo Da Vinci: Anatomist exhibition after the crowds had gone home, letting themselves ‘be moved’ by his anatomical studies. In this short course, participants had the opportunity to discover the artist’s notes and drawings through a series of structured movement and performance exercises that took place in the gallery.

Led by Suzy Willson, Artistic Director of Clod Ensemble

Medicine Symposium.

Clod Ensemble also hosted a Performing Medicine Symposium in the Autumn exploring some of the current thinking in the area of arts in medical training.
