Tortoise in a Nutshell in co-production with Cumbernauld Theatre present Feral

Produced by Fuel

Feral was an innovative piece of visual theatre that combined puppetry, film, and live sound to create and destroy a world in front of its audience’s eyes. Joe looked back at the town of his childhood. Bright, vibrant, and idyllic the world resembled a haven of comfort. But as the walls were peeled back, the story of a community’s fall unfolded around him.

Fringe First Award-winning Feral was reworked into two new versions specially made for the people of Margate and Poole. Tortoise, in a Nutshell, visited each town over a period of 6 months and met with local shopkeepers, town councillors, school children, and other important people in the community, investigating what was at their hearts.

These bespoke versions of Feral were created as part of Fuel’s research project New Theatre In Your Neighbourhood.
