Gloria Patrick
Osoyegbon’s name translates to “I am not a slave”. But Osoyegbon just wants to be known as Gloria.
Trafficked to the UK from Nigeria with the promise of a better life, Gloria faced sexual exploitation, physical, emotional, and psychological abuse before finding sanctuary in a safe house.
Based upon recordings from Gloria’s lived experience, Osoyegbon is an audio engagement project for young people that explores sexual abuse, modern slavery and mental health.
Commissioned and produced by Fuel.
Creative Learning
This audio piece is complemented by a Creative Learning Toolkit, developed in partnership with Solace Women’s Aid. The toolkit offers thoughtful and engaging approaches to explore challenging themes such as human trafficking, modern slavery, and abuse.
Designed for youth groups and classrooms, the toolkit provides adaptable resources suitable for ages 14 to 20.
In April 2025, the audio piece will be available for streaming on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Fuel Engage – Fuel’s free creative learning platform for teachers, educators, and those interested in innovative learning practices. The toolkit will be available for download on Fuel Engage.
