Our website is more accessible!

We continue our journey to being more accessible

Many of the world’s population is missing out on the valuable resources of the internet, due to inaccessible websites. Vision impairments, hearing loss, and common learning disabilities mean that many people can’t reap the benefits of the internet.

At Fuel, one of our main goals is to ensure all content on our website is accessible. In order to do this, we have installed a cloud-based software called Recite Me on our website that offers an assistive toolbar at the top of the page should any of our users need a little assistance.

The Recite Me toolbar is comprehensive and easy to use and offers a boatload of solutions to support our users which allows them to customise our website content in a way that works best for them.

What does the toolbar do?

This accessibility toolbar will appear at the top of your page. No matter what your needs are with the content in front of you, the toolbar offers various ways to support you. These are just some of the features of the toolbar…

  • Reading text on a page aloud in a natural speaking voice

  • Dyslexia tools to change text and background colours

  • Translation tools that allow you to translate text into more than 100 languages

  • A digital ruler to help you keep track of where you are as you’re reading

  • A screen mask that allows you to cover up other sections of text so you can focus on the section you’re reading

  • A dictionary to search the definition of words you may not have seen before

  • A magnifying glass to enlarge content

  • A PDF document reader

You can save your preferences for when you return to our website in the future, and the toolbar works across a variety of devices.

How does the toolbar work?

The toolbar is very easy to use but find out exactly how to use it and how it can help you by watching the tutorial video below.

How do I find the toolbar?

The toolbar doesn’t automatically appear on the screen as not all users may need it. If you would like to use the toolbar, you will see an icon titled ‘Accessibility’ (see icon below) in the bottom left-hand corner of your web page. Simply click on this icon and the toolbar will appear at the top of your page.
If you don’t want to use the toolbar and want to remove it from your screen, simply click the ‘X’ icon in the top right-hand corner of your page.

Recite Me started its journey in the late 90’s when its CEO was diagnosed with dyslexia at university and was provided with assistive technology that was limiting. Approximately one billion people globally have a disability and they can often face barriers when visiting inaccessible websites that prevent them from taking an active part in life.

Recite Me is a cloud-based web accessibility assistive toolbar solution that allows website visitors to customise a site in a way that works best for them, allowing everyone the opportunity to use the internet in the way it is intended. At the touch of a button, the Recite Me toolbar can be launched providing text to speech functionality, full customisable styling features, reading support aids, and a translation tool with over 100 languages, including 35 text speech voices and many other features. Recite Me is now a global leading Enterprise SaaS accessibility solution providing support to millions of users in all industries around the world.
